Whispers at Sea (#20-25)

If you are not there to hear them, do they make any sound? That is the question evoked by my recent painting commissioned for an interior designer’s client. While the crashing waves may be suggested visually, they are but a whisper in the vastness of the open ocean, and even less so if we are not there to hear them. Large format 48×40 oil on canvas.

Babbling Away (#20-19)

Sometimes, I tell myself that whenever I leave someplace special — be it the beach, the mountains or wherever — that place ceases to exist once I’ve left. It somehow makes my leaving it behind a bit easier. Of course, I know the waves keep rolling up onto the beach, or, as in the case of this recently completed painting, the brook keeps babbling away. 48×36 oil on canvas.
