In troubling times, I often find comfort knowing that, in spite of it all, resilience can be found almost everywhere. In this case, rocks along the shore that stand strong against the constant onslaught of wind, rain and surf. 40×40 oil on canvas.
Recently completed a commission project for a woman who has a beautiful pagoda and garden in her backyard. I enjoyed painting this for her, trying to capture the rich texture and lush colors of her garden. 30×24 oil on canvas. (SOLD)
Here’s another look at the colorful buildings of Willemstad, Curacao. I painted a slightly different perspective as a commissioned wedding gift, and this was the alternate painting selection to that. (I typically create two paintings for commission projects, providing the client a choice.) 24×18 oil on canvas. (SOLD! Thank You!)
The leaves are a vivid golden yellow, made even more so by the bright afternoon sun shining down as I walked along the trail. Here and there, a shy leaf falls silently to the ground, its summer job now completed. 30 x 40 oil on canvas.
There’s something comforting about the faithfully constant crashing of waves against the shore, no matter what else seems to be going on in the world around us. “Relentless.” 30×24 oil on canvas.
Monhegan Island sits 16 miles off the coast of Maine. It is home primarily to a tiny population of lobstermen and their families. Life there is harsh, and simple. And it is beautiful. 20×30 oil on canvas.
Built in 1895, the Stovall Mill Bridge is a one-lane covered bridge spanning Chickamauga Creek in the North Georgia mountains. This painting was created for a family member and is 24×18 oil on canvas.
